yeah, yeah, yeah, but who are you?

Sofia Carrera-Britten

My name is Sofia Carrera-Britten. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon - Sellwood. The land spoiled me [transcorporeality and mutability]: Awesome. And I am living in my hometown once again after:

I graduated in June 2023 with academic honors from the Rhode Island School of Design with a B.F.A. in Film/Animation/Video. I also finished a concentration in Literary Arts Studies. I was awarded both the Kira M. Fischer Memorial Scholarship and the Bruce Bolduc Memorial Award. My work was shown in Gelman Gallery at the Soiled Bodies show and published in V.1 magazine.

About that...  A distinct perspective on making as a translative and alchemical process of approximation in which I am constantly asking, “What is the best way to represent truth?”. This earnest and fallible human body strives to communicate in sculpture, linguistics and philosophy, the moving image/film, and event and interaction facilitation. My work is constructions aimed to fracture linear chronology; a.k.a. I am part of building the world I want to live in.
